Dan Tomlinson planted a stake in the speaker’s Constituency Garden of Remembrance in honour of the Women’s Royal Army Corps

Chipping Barnet MP Dan Tomlinson planted a stake in the speaker’s Constituency Garden of Remembrance last week dedicated to women who served at a barracks in Mill Hill.
The Women’s Royal Army Corps, which had a base at Inglis Barracks in Mill Hill from the 1960s to 1993, paved the way for women’s right to serve in the army, and during their active years, 59 women lost their lives in combat.
Dan Tomlinson MP said: “I was honoured to place a tribute to the Women’s Royal Army Corps in The Speaker’s Constituency Garden of Remembrance.
“We will remember their service and sacrifice, as well as all of those who have served for our country.
“May we honour those who gave their lives, and those who continue to serve, for our freedom, safety, and democracy.”
This weekend, Tomlinson is attending remembrance services across Chipping Barnet, in memory of the fallen.
The Constituency Remembrance Garden was founded in 2021. MPs have until today (November 10th) to plant their tribute. When complete, the garden will contain a Remembrance stake for each of the 650 constituencies in the UK, the 54 member countries of the Commonwealth, and 14 British Overseas Territories.
