Barnet residents came together this weekend to pay their respects to those who have died in conflicts around the world.

Services and parades took place across the borough on Sunday, 9th November.

The mayor of Barnet, Danny Rich, laid wreaths on behalf of the mayor, councillors and burgesses of the London Borough of Barnet at the war memorial at St Kilda’s and Finchley United Services Club, the Watling Community Centre and at the war memorial in Arkley.

The deputy mayor, Edith David, attended the service at Hendon war memorial and past mayors and representatives paid respects at other services and war memorials in the borough.

Cllr Rich, said: “The huge scale of the loss of life in the two world wars and all other conflicts is near unimaginable. It is important we come together each year to remember their sacrifice, and that of their loved ones. I felt honoured to have the privilege of laying wreaths in their memory on behalf of our borough.”
