Amazing maiden century from all-rounder Ilan Selby

Belmont and Edgware CC had an historic weekend, with the two elevens seeing some terrific performances including a maiden century and a debut five-wicket haul.
The first eleven played Guttal CC 2nds in Wembley, batting first in their league game. The innings was held together thanks to an amazing maiden century from all-rounder Ilan Selby.
The Scot pummelled 105 from just 98, getting to three figures with a towering six off a no-ball.
Finishing on 227/8, the total wasn’t quite enough, with the opposition coming out very against the opening bowlers.
Guttall got to the total in 29 overs, seven wickets down, after Elisha Lev and David Kaplan took three wickets each.
Meanwhile at stunning Knebworth, the second eleven bowled first against Yarl CC. Alfie Davis and Benjy Landau made debuts, in a side littered with young and exciting talent.
Josh Lebrett struck first up, and vice-captain Jonny Schogger broke a crucial partnership in the middle overs.
Captain Jack Mendel then turned to 15-year-old Alfie Davis, a left-arm seam bowler, who took a stunning six wickets for just 18 runs, including a hat-trick to wrap the innings up.
Yarl were dismissed for 135, with Josh Lebrett anchoring the chase, striking 41. He was ably assisted by Joel Azulay with 27, before Matt Gittleson played a sensible and responsible knock of 26 not out, alongside Zachy Sager on 16 not-out, to get the win.
