Sharesy helps organisations such as schools and churches to rent out spaces such as halls, rooms and fields, reports Rana Rastegari

Sharesy, a social impact startup, has helped over 50 community venues in Barnet rent out their spaces to generate income.
Across the UK, Sharesy has allowed organisations such as schools and churches to rent out their halls, fields and spaces. The startup has generated an average of £15,000-£20,000 each year and allowed over 800 schools and community centres to earn £2 million in bookings.
Sharesy was launched in 2022 by Felix Atkin and connects organisations with available venues to individuals or groups needing spaces for events. Venues can be rented out by the hour, allowing community organisations to gain a stream of income and members of the community to access affordable spaces.
Research by Sharesy reveals that the startup has the earning potential of an additional £150 million to be put back into London communities. At the moment, there are over 800 spaces listed with prices starting at £8 per hour. These spaces include historical churches, city farms and a soft play space.
Found Felix Atkin states “Sharesy is all about bringing people together and making under-utilised spaces vibrant centres of their community. We’re thrilled to be giving community organisations the tools they need to generate much-needed revenue by hiring out their venues, while also helping people find affordable spaces that suit their needs.
“Since we launched the marketplace in 2022, we have helped community organisations generate more than £2 million in bookings to help them reinvest in their spaces and communities. This could not be more timely as so many of these organisations battle the challenges posed by the cost of living crisis.
“With more than 800 spaces now listed on our platform, there is something for every playgroup, birthday party, bridge club, dance class and board meeting. But this is just the beginning, we have our sights set on further expansion across London and beyond”.
