Barnet drivers face four sets of delays on the M1 and A1 this week reports Will Grimond, Data Reporter

Barnet’s motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm October 2 to 5am October 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 4, Lane 3,2 closure for barrier works.

• M1, from 10pm October 5 to 5am October 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for urgent safety fence repairs.

• A1, from 10pm October 9 to 5.30am October 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1(M) northbound, junction 1 to junction 3, Lane closure, slip road closure and carriageway closure for concrete repair works, diversion via National Highways and local authority roads.

• M1, from 10pm October 16 to 5.30am October 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for joint investigations.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads are not included in their schedule.
