Barnet road closures: nine for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Barnet’s motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that nine closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm August 1st to 5.30am August 2nd, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for Joint investigation works.

• M1, from 10pm August 1st to 5am August 2nd, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for sign installation.

• M1, from 10pm August 2nd to 5.30am August 3rd, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for joint investigation works.

• M1, from 10pm August 2nd to 5am August 12th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 4, Lane closures for barrier repairs.

• M1, from 10pm August 2nd to 5.30am August 3rd, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closures for joint investigation works.

• M1, from 10pm August 3rd to 5.30am August 4th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closures for joint investigation works.

• M1, from 10pm August 5th to 5.30am August 7th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 4, slip road closure and carriageway closure for resurfacing works, diversion via TFL roads.

• M1, from 10pm August 14th to 5am August 19th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction London Gateway to junction 2, Lane closure for Sign Installation.

• M1, from 10pm August 14th to 5am August 19th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction London Gateway, Lane closure for Sign Installation.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads are not included in their schedule.
