Residents at a Hendon care home had a memorable experience earlier this month with the visit of several different pets.
Signature at Hendon Hall hosted a morning visit from Megan’s Petting Paradise, a service that puts on sessions given attendees the interact with animals.
The Hendon Hall residents had the opportunity to meet a wide variety of pets, ranging from rabbits to rats to even a bearded dragon. The event was a part of the care home’s extensive activities program, which prioritises the residents’ wellbeing, as well as enabling them to discover new interests.
Orla Green, home manager at Signature at Hendon Hall, said: “We were so pleased to welcome Megan’s Petting Paradise into our home. The session created a wonderful atmosphere and prompted a lot of smiles and moments of joy for our residents. Animal visits like these are known for reducing stress and improving mood and they really add something special to life within our home.”
The proved to be impactful for residents, one of whom, Cynthia Shaw is particularly fond of animals. She said: “I adore all animals, so for me it was a truly memorable experience and one that I will remember for a long time. It really brightened the day and gave us all so much to talk about.”
Signature says its lifestyle and wellbeing team dedicate their time to guarantee the resident’s comfort and happiness. They centre activities around the resident’s interests, hobbies and capabilities, adapting activities and events to ensure every resident’s comfort.
Residents have the choice to participate as little or as much as they want, so everyone can remain comfortable and secure.
