The Bees made it a September to remember with another win, with victory of AFC Fylde making it five on the spin to remain top with a healthy two0point lead at the summit.

In all honesty this win was far from straightforward for the Bees as, despite AFC Fylde being managerless following the departure of Chris Beech a few weeks ago, caretaker managers Chris Neal and Nathan Delfouneso set their stall out to frustrate the leaders by snuffing out any Bees chances during the first half.

Anthony Hartigan fired over early on and, soon after, a Zak Brunt shot was held comfortably by Coasters’ Keeper Ben Winterbottom.

Five minutes before half time and it was the Coasters who nearly opened the scoring – but Charlie Jolley saw his shot saved one handed by keeper Nick Hayes.

Two minutes after that Coasters chance, Callum Stead found space in the box, but his shot struck the post as the Bees looked to go in at half time with a lead.

In the 57th minute, the Coasters resistance was finally broken as the league leaders took the lead in the match.

Sub Nicke Kabamba, who had only just come on, was set up by Brunt with a pass from which the number nine poked the ball into the net despite the attentions of keeper and defender.

The Bees continued to dominate as they went in search of more goals. Hartigan tried his luck from range with Winterbottom holding on at the second attempt and, as they tried to put the game to bed, Myles Kenlock found himself in the penalty area with five minutes to go, but, as his shot was heading towards the far corner of the net, the ball flicked off a Coasters player for a corner.

However in the fifth minute of time added on, the Bees did finally put the game to bed with their second goal to finally finish off the Coasters: Ben Coker crossed low from the byline finding Stead unmarked in the six-yard box to tap the ball into the an empty net to seal the Bees sixth win in the last seven matches.

The Bees return to The Hive next Saturday, when newly promoted Boston United make their first ever visit to this ground and the two sides first meeting since 2006 when they met in the Football League.
