This May, events and an exhibition at Middlesex University will explore everyday forms of misogyny and violence against women and girls
An exhibition and series of events at Middlesex University this May will explore often normalised, subtle and everyday forms of misogyny and violence against women and girls.
#hearmyvoice ‘24 is a Middlesex University initiative with Barnet Council looking to shift attitudes, values and behaviour and change culture.
The exhibition, open every day between 9am and 5pm at Grove Atrium, Middlesex University, The Burroughs, London, NW4 4BT from 16th to 23rd of May will showcase student project work, including film, animation and graphics tackling everyday forms of misogyny such as banter and street harassment.
On 21st of May, from 12pm-2pm in The Quad, Middlesex University, a community partners forum will bring together stalls hosted by various specialist support organisations sharing services and support available in the borough.
On 22nd May, Walk in the Park, a participatory performance will begin at the University, moving on to Sunny Hill Park. Those attending will be invited to share their stories of walking home at night. The performance will begin at 7.30pm at Grove Atrium, Middlesex University before moving on to Sunny Hill Park.
The exhibition is open to members of the public. Reservations for the Community Forum and Walk in The Park must be made in advance here https://engage.barnet.gov.uk/hearmyvoice
