Two cars collided at the junction of Whetstone High Road and Chandos Avenue last night

Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision in Whetstone last night.
The police were called at around 11.30pm following a collision between a Volkswagen Golf and Nissan Qashqai at the junction between Whetstone High Road and Chandos Avenue.
Both ambulance and air ambulance services attended, however the front passenger of the Volkswagen, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two rear passengers in the same car, a man and a woman in their 20s, were taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening and life-changing injuries. Both remain in hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 20-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in hospital and is receiving treatment for non-life threatening nor life-changing injuries.
The driver of the Nissan, a woman in her 20s, was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
Detective Inspector John Millward, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with the families and friends of all the young people involved in this tragic collision at this extremely difficult time.
He added: “As we try to build up a full picture of the incident, we are appealing to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or any relevant information – particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage.”
