Powerleague is building four padel courts at its MIll Hill site

A leading football provider is bringing an additional sport to Mill Hill after starting work on four new padel courts.
Powerleague, which currently offers the chance to take part in a range of football activities, has begun construction of the courts at its Mill Hill site, having already begun to offer access to the increasingly popular racket sport – which combines elements of tennis and squash – at some of its other sites across the UK.
Powerleague Mill Hill already has over 4,500 people every week taking part in its football sessions – which include 5,7 and 9-a-side matches and ‘bubble football’ – and says the new courts will “enhance the club’s multi-sport offer, providing opportunities for players of all ages and abilities”.
Explaining the plans, John Gillespie, ceo of Powerleague, said: “We’re delighted to be expanding our offer at Mill Hill with new padel courts. Padel’s inclusive, social nature makes it a perfect fit for the multi-sport environment we’re building, giving more people the chance to enjoy one of the UK’s fastest growing sports in a welcoming, great value setting.
“With thousands already using Mill Hill each week, these courts will bring an exciting new way for the community to stay active, social and connected. We look forward to welcoming players onto the courts later this summer.”
