Barnet Council’s leader was responding after more than 30 people were killed in the incident on Friday

Barnet Council leader Barry Rawlings has described an attack on mosque in Pakistan as “horrific” as he highlighted the impact on communities on Barnet.
Cllr Rawlings was responding to news that more than 30 people were killed in a suicide bombing at a Shia mosque in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad on Friday.
He said: “Our thoughts are with all the victims of the horrific suicide bomb attack at a Shia mosque in Islamabad, which has claimed at least 31 lives and injured more than 160 people.”
He added: “This attack on a place of worship will deeply affect many in our Pakistani and Muslim communities here in Barnet. We offer our heartfelt condolences to all those who have lost loved ones or are waiting anxiously for news.”
