Drivers in and around Barnet will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A1, from 11pm 24th October to 5am 29th October, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 4, Lane closures, slip road closures and carriageway closure for maintenance works, diversion via TFL roads.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm 27th October to 5am 28th October, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for inspection works.

• M1, from 10pm 27th October to 5.30am 28th October, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction London Gateway Services to junction 2, Lane closures for Sign works.

• M1, from 10pm 28th October to 5am 29th October, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for Urgent inspection works.

• M1, from 9.30pm 29th October to 6am 22nd November, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closures for Boundary Fence replacement.

• M1, from 10pm 29th October to 5.30am 30th October, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction London Gateway Services to junction 4, Lane closures for survey works.

• M1, from 10pm 5th November to 5am 8th November, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 1, Lane closure, slip road closures and carriageway closures for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways roads.

• M1, from 10pm 10th November to 5.30am 12th November, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for survey works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
