Barnet’s motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A1, from 10pm 25th September to 5.30am 7th October, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A41 northbound, junction Five Ways to M1 northbound, junction 2, Lane and link road closure for Concrete works, diversion via Local Authorities network.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 9.30pm 29th September to 6am 25th October, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closures for Boundary Fence repairs.

• M1, from 10pm 29th September to 5.30am 1st October, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction London Gateway Services, slip road closure for inspections, diversion via National Highways network.

• M1, from 10pm 6th October 6 to 5.30am 8th October, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 3, Lane closures for barrier works.

• M1, from 10pm 9th October to 5.30am 10th October, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 5 to junction 4, Lane and slip road closure for Sign works, diversion via Local Authorities network.

• M1, from 10pm 13th October 13 to 6am 18th October, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for survey works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
