Michael Stewart and Anthony Stewart have been charged in connection with the death of Anthony Llttler in East Finchley in 1984

Two men have been charged with murder in connection with the death of a man in East Finchley over 40 years ago.

Michael Stewart, 55, of Station Road, EN and Anthony Stewart, 59, of Old Farm Road, N29, have been charged will killing Anthony Littler, 45 on 1st May 1984.

Anthony was found with serious injuries close to East End Road and died at the scene.

Enquiries into his death have remained ongoing and police put out a fresh appeal for information in December 2023 which led to an arrest.

The two men charged were originally arrested on 21st March 2024.

They have been remanded into custody and will appear at Willesden Magistrates Court tomorrow (Thursday, 6th March).

Three other men who were previously arrested on suspicion of murder remain under investigation.
