Nick Sandamas sees the Bees win again to open up a gap at the top of the National League

Barnet 2 Hartlepool United 0
Barnet opened up a four-point gap at the top as two second half goals proved enough to beat a stubborn Hartlepool side under the Tuesday night lights at The Hive.
As they had against Maidenhead last time out, the Bees limited their opponents to very few chances in front of goal.
Dean Brennan’s unchanged side created their first effort on the Pools’ goal in the ninth minute, with Danny Collinge’s bouncing header going straight into the arms of Pools’ keeper Adam Smith.
Ten minutes later Ryan Glover tried a curler but this whistled way wide of the far post.
Minutes after that, the Pools’ had their first clear sight of goal as Rhys Cleary had an effort cleared followed by a further chance seven minutes from the break when Mani Dieseruvwe headed over.
Then the Bees had two great chances to take a half time lead.
First, Zak Brunt played a through pass to Lee Ndlovu in the box before Smith got a hand to the ball to deny the striker, then Brunt let fly with a shot from the edge of the area which Smith touched onto the bar before it was cleared away.
Five minutes into the second half, the table toppers pressure finally paid off with the opener.
Idris Kanu delivered a sublime cross into the six-yard area, Stead nodded the ball down and Glover fired into the net.
Ndlovu then had chance to add to the lead five minutes later but his flicked header from a Glover cross was just wide and, just before the hour, Stead thought he had directed a header into the net but Smith dived brilliantly to his left to get both hands to the ball and push it away from goal.
Despite these heroics, there was nothing Smith could do four minutes later as the Bees finally got that second goal with an unusual piece of skill from goalscorer Ndlovu.
His clever slide rule shot from a Brunt corner trickled into the corner of the net to give the Bees breathing space and left the number nine relieved at having scored his first goal in a black & amber shirt.
With fifteen minutes to go, the Pools had a chance to cut the deficit and make it a nervy finish for the Bees, but Collinge did magnificently to cut out a Dieseruvwe attempt on goal.
With second placed Forest Green Rovers engaged in cup action this Saturday, the Bees have the perfect opportunity to increase their lead further when they head to Tamworth.
