Local groups can apply for up to £1,000 from Barnet Council to host an event

Black History Month (BHM) is a national awareness campaign held in October which recognises and celebrates the contributions of Black people to the economic, cultural and political life in the UK.
This year’s theme is “Reclaiming Narratives,” marking a shift towards recognising and correcting the narratives of Black history and culture. Barnet Council is going to be working with residents and communities to celebrate BHM across the borough.
If you’d like to get involved, email [email protected]
The council is also offering grants of up to £1,000 to community groups to host an event to celebrate BHM. The deadline for applications is Monday 19th August and more information is available here.
