Councillor calls for residents to take part in Edgware hospital consultation

North Central London Integrated Care Board launched the consultation on reducing the numbers of maternity and neonatal units in the area from five to four in December 2023

A Labour councillor for Burnt Oak is encouraging residents to respond to a consultation that proposes closing the birthing unit at Edgware community hospital.

Launching the consultation in December 2023, Dr Jo Sauvage, Chief Medical Officer for North Central London ICB said: “Keeping services as they are does not support better outcomes, access and experience for residents.”

Now Cllr Kamal Gurung is calling on residents to respond to the consultation before it closes on 17th March. He said: “’It’s critical that residents make their views known on this issue.
