Barnet Council wants to work with residents to develop a new data charter

Barnet Council has opened a public consultation to help to develop a new charter between the council and residents on how data is collected, managed, shared and published.
The council adopted a commitment to open data and transparency in 2014 and is looking to refresh this commitment to “proactively publishing high quality, fully anonymised data from the council and our partners.”
The council is seeking views on data privacy and open data, which is data made available for free for anyone to access, reuse and share and
They are also seeking views on improvements or changes to the customer service of their information request service.
Residents have until 3rd March to respond to the online survey before in person consultation begins.
The council’s digital champion Cllr Rishikesh Chakraborty said: “I encourage everyone who wants to know how the council approaches their data to engage with the consultation at https://engage.barnet.gov.uk/data-charter-consultation“
