Finchley and Golders Green MP Mike Freer tells constituents to claim support with bills before June 30th

A local MP has called on constituents to make sure they claim government support for energy bills before the scheme closes at the end of this month.

Mike Freer, who is a junior minister, highlighted government calls for energy users with prepayment meters to redeem £400 vouchers available through the government’s Energy Bill Support Scheme. The discount was provided automatically to customers paying by direct debit.

The MP said: “Households on traditional prepayment meters are being urged by the Government to redeem their Energy Bills Support Scheme (EBSS) vouchers. Prepayment meter customers have so far claimed £620 million under the scheme, with an estimated £145 million remaining to be claimed.”
