Drivers face new and ongoing slip road and lane closures on the A1 and M1 in and around the borough By Joseph Hook, data reporter
National Highways is the agency responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads
Drivers in and around Barnet will have nine National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways – the agency responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads – shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• M1, from 10pm November 14th to 5am November 21st, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 3, Lane closures for TFL bridge refurbishment works on A41.
• A1, from 10pm November 14th to 6am November 26th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2, entry slip road closure for concrete repairs, diversion via local authorities (A1, A41, rejoin at, junction 4).
And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:
• M1, from 10pm November 21th to 5.30am November 26th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for boundary fence repairs.
• M1, from 10pm November 21st to 5am November 27th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for TFL bridge refurbishment works on A41.
• A1, from 11pm November 25th to 5am November 26th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, junction 1 to junction Borehamwood, Lane closure for drainage inspections.
• A1, from 11pm November 25th to 5am November 26th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, junction Borehamwood to junction 1, Lane closures for drainage inspections.
• M1, from 10pm December 5th to 6am December 11th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for inspections works.
• A1, from 10pm December 5th to 6am December 10th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2, entry slip road closure for concrete repairs, diversion via local authority roads.
• M1, from 10pm December 5th to 5am December 15th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for barrier repairs.
