Barnet’s motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways – the agency responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads – shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M1, from 10pm October 17 to 5.30am October 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction A406 to junction 1, dedicated entry slip road closure for drainage works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A1, from 11pm October 21 to 5am October 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1 northbound, junction Borehamwood, entry slip road closure for CAT 1 boundary fence repairs, diversion via TFL roads.

• M1, from 10pm October 24 to 5.30am October 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure and entry slip road closure for inspections works, diversion via National Highways roads.

• M1, from 10pm October 24 to 5.30am October 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for inspections.
