A coffee chain will open a new outlet in High Barnet next month.

Australian chain Jamaica Blue is opening a café in the High Street next to Barclays Bank on Thursday, 12th November.

The chain, which was founded in Australia “more than 30 years ago”  takes its name from the Blue Mountains in Jamaica which it says are “the source of some of the world’s most sought-after coffee beans”.

It adds that the opening “marks the next step in Jamaica Blue’s UK growth”.

Explaining the decision to open the new outlet, Michael Johnson, head of franchise development at Foodco UK, said: “Barnet has everything we look for: a proud community, a busy high street and people who care about good coffee. We’re investing £300,000 and creating 15 new jobs because we believe in this town and want to play a real part in it.

“From 12th November, we’ll be serving some of the finest coffee on the planet, alongside fresh, made-to-order food, in a café we hope will quickly become a local favourite.”
