Catch all of that and more in A Very Divine Election, the first ever horror comedy musical to be set in Barnet (albeit a surreal, alternate dimension of the borough)!

I’m a 20-year-old Cambridge student who grew up in Finchley. I have written an original musical about our borough which has been selected for the Camden Fringe, and we will be performing at the festival Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th August at 9pm.

Adam Arkell is running the election campaign for his uncle, Dee Kleining – fictional leader of Barnet Council, a man who prefers decline over bold action. All Adam wants is Dee’s approval but the harder Adam tries to design election adverts, the worse they get.

All hope seems lost for Kleining, until he discovers a job opening at the advertising agency managing publicity for the horrifically dysfunctional WEE Party, which is running against Kleining.

Dee hatches a plot for his nephew to sabotage the WEE Party from within. The plan seems flawless but, upon starting the job, Adam stumbles upon endless mysteries. Why is the CEO so disillusioned with her own company?

Why do the co-workers act more like gremlins than human beings? And why are we running the election campaign of a radical anti-advertising party whose only policy is to shut us down?
