Man charged with murder following East Finchley assault

A man has been charged with murder today following a fatal assault in an East Finchley shop.

Tevin Melbourne, 30, of Pittman Gardens, Ilford was charged having been arrested on Friday (17th July).

He will appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court later today.

The charge relates to the death of an East Finchley resident, 53-year-old Paul Heyfron, who died on Sunday, 12th July after he was assaulted inside the shop in Brook Walk on Monday, 30th June.

A 47-year-old woman who was also arrested on Friday on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed pending further investigation.
