Nick Sandamas with a review of last night’s local football

Cockfosters warmed up for their FA Vase semi final second leg match against Punjab United this coming Saturday with a deserved three points against Arlesey Town in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division at Chalk Lane last night. A result which leaves Cockfosters within striking distance of the play-off spots.
Lee Dykes gave the home side the perfect start with the opening goal in the first minute.
The lead was increased with two goals in the space of ten minutes in the second half. First Joe Shenouda then Tyrese Robertson put the result beyond doubt.
Ezzina Doimgbe did score a consolation goal in stoppage time for the Lambs to at least give the scoreline a more respectable look.
Meanwhile in the Combined Counties league Premier Division North, Edgware and Kingsbury hosted Amersham Town in a battle of the bottom two. This went the way of the visiting Geordies thanks to two second half goals from Jae Du Kelly to condemn the home side to defeat and push them nearer to the relegation trapdoor.
And finally, higher up the pyramid, Hendon played out a thrilling 3-3 draw away to Horndean in the Isthmian League Division One South Central.
The Greens were 3-1 down at the midway point of the second half before substitute Jadyn Dundas scored twice in three minutes to rescue a point which leaves them seven points above the drop zone with five games remaining.
