A local charity has launched a unique new fundraising event

North Londoners are being encouraged to walk on fire by a local charity.
North London Hospice has launched a new fundraising event called ‘The Firewalk’ where the charity’s supporters will be urged to “overcome your fears” and “do something you never thought possible”.
Anyone taking part will receive expert training from Firewalk UK.
The plug for the event on the charity’s website says: “This is not your average fundraising event – it’s bold, it’s brilliant, and guaranteed to make you feel empowered as you prove to yourself that with a little courage (and the right mindset), anything is possible.
“Firewalking is a safe practice that involves walking on a bed of hot coals or embers and has been used for centuries to test physical and mental limits and explore the relationship between fear and belief.
“Designed to inspire participants through transformative lessons and experiences, you will take part in a motivational presentation before being invited to walk across coals that have been prepared by a team of professional instructors and tenders.”
North London Hospice runs two care facilities, at Winchmore Hill in Enfield and Finchley in Barnet, with the charity’s Haringey community palliative care team currently based in Enfield as well.
The Firewalk is due to take place at Christ’s College in Finchley on Thursday, 9th October. For more information and to sign up:
