A former Barnet striker has taken a step into the world of healthy snack promotion by becoming an ambassador for a brand of dates.

Jake Hyde, first played for the Bees between 2009 and 2010, before rejoining the club for a second spell between 2012 and 2014. In total, he made 109 appearances and scored 33 goals.

Now playing for Woking, while also owning a gym in Windsor, the 34-year-old has become an ambassador for Sukkari pitted date brand, Datekin

Commenting on the link up, Hyde said: “I’m genuinely excited to partner with Datekin.”

He added: “Dates have long been a go-to for energy and recovery when I was playing, and Datekin’s snacks offer that natural goodness in a convenient, tasty format. I’m looking forward to sharing why I believe they’re a great fit for athletes and anyone striving for healthier snacking habits.”

Datekin describes its product as being “natural’s original sweet treat”. They claim the dates have a “distinct caramel-like flavour with soft texture” and are “full of vitamins and minerals”.

Explaining the connection with Hyde, Datekin co-founder Michael Epstein said that the former Bees’ move from being a footballer to a wellness advocate made him an “ideal champion” for the brand.

He added: “Jake embodies everything Datekin stands for: athleticism, determination, and a real belief in wholesome nutrition. Our aim is to inspire healthier snack choices across sports enthusiasts, families, and health-conscious consumers.

“We’re excited to have him on board not only to amplify our message but share real-life stories of how Datekin supports active lifestyles – from training sessions to daily routines.”
