Barnet’s motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But the news isn’t too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M1, from 10pm 28th July to 5.30am 9th August, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 3, Lane closures for barrier works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm 11th August to 5.30am 14th August, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 3, Lane closures for barrier works.

• M1, from 10pm 12th August to 5.30am 14th August, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 3, Lane closure for CCTV works.

• M1, from 10pm 14th August to 5.30am 16th August, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 3, Lane closures for barrier works.

• M1, from 10pm 18th August to 5.30am 20th August, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 3, Lane closures for cctv works.

• A1, from 10pm 18th August to 6am 13th September, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, junction Bignells corner to junction Rowley Lane, Lane closures for Culvert works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
