Barnet road closures: five for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Barnet’s motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M1, from 9pm 22nd April to 6am 17th May, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane and hard shoulder closure for Boundary fencing works.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm 7th May to 5am 8th May, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for Urgent carriageway repairs.

• A1, from 10pm 7th May to 5am 9th May, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1(M) northbound, junction 1 to junction 3, Lane closure, slip road closures and carriageway closure for maintenance works, diversion via local authority roads.

• M1, from 11pm 9th May to 5am 10th May, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for Urgent carriageway repairs.

• M1, from 10pm 12th May 12 to 5am 13th May, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 5 to junction 1, Lane and carriageway closure for Urgent carriageway repairs diversion via Local Authorities network.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
