Drivers in and around Barnet will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 9pm April 22nd to 6am May 17th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane and hard shoulder closure for Boundary fencing works.

• A1, from 10pm April 24th to 6am April 26th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1 northbound, junction Rowley Lane to junction Bignells corner, Lane and slip road closure for carriageway repairs, diversion via Local Authorities roads.

• A1, from 10pm April 24th to 5am April 25th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, Jc t Rowley Lane to junction Bignells corner, Lane closures for inspection works.

• M1, from 10pm April 28th to 6am May 3rd, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 5 to junction 1, Lane, carriageway and slip road closure for surfacing works, diversion via Local Authorities roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
