Six delays on the M1 and A1 for local motorists to avoid reports Will Grimond, Data Reporter

Barnet’s motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• A1, from 10.30pm February 16th to 5am February 17th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1(M) northbound, junction 1 to junction 3 and A1 northbound, junction Rowley Lane to junction Bignells corner, carriageway and entry slip road closure for CAT 1 carriageway repairs, diversion via National Highways Network and local authority roads.
And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• A1, from 10pm February 17th to 6am February 22th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, junction Bignells corner to junction Rowley Lane, Lane closures for monitoring instillations.
• M1, from 10pm February 19th to 5.30am February 21st, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway services, Lane closures for CCTV P5 surveys.
• A1, from 10pm February 24th to 6am March 1st, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, junction Bignells corner to junction Rowley Lane, Lane closures for monitoring instillation works.
• M1, from 10pm February 24th to 5am February 27th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 1, Lane closure, slip road closures and carriageway closures for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways roads.
• M1, from 9pm February 28th to 5.30am March 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closures for Boundary fencing works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
