Barnet road closures: four for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Barnet’s motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• A1, from 10pm November 25th to 5.30am November 26th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 5, Carriagway cand slip road closuefor resurfacing, diversion via Local Authorities roads.

• M1, from 10pm November 26th to 5am November 27th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 5 to junction 4, Lane and carriageway closure for Urgent safety fence repairs, diversion via National Highways.

• M1, from 9pm December 9 to 6am December 20th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1, Lane closure for Boundary fencing works.

• A1, from 10pm December 9 to 5am December 10th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1(M) northbound, junction 1 to junction 3, carriageway closure, entry slip road closure and lane closures for maintenance works, diversion Via National Highways and local authority roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
