Barnet’s motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm August 5th to 5am August 6th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction London Gateway, Lane closure for technology replacement works.

• M1, from 10pm August 15th to 5am August 16th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction London Gateway Services, Lane and slip road closure for Electrical works, diversion via Local Authorities.

• A1, from 10pm August 19th to 5.30am August 23rd, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 5 to junction 1, Lane closures, slip road closures and carriageway closures for testing works, diversion via local authority and TFL roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
