A Colindale councillor has welcomed the opening of a new cycle path for the ward.

Nagus Narenthira has praised Cycleway 51, which connects Colindale Station to Watling Avenue near Burnt Oak station through Silkstream Park and Montrose playing fields.

It is part of the more than 200 miles of cycle networks across the capital, making cycling easier and safer.

Cllr Narenthira said: “Barnet’s Labour council and London’s Labour mayor, Sadiq Khan, want to make sure residents have as many travel options as possible The new cycleway offers that for local residents.”
