Organisations can apply for £500 to £1,000 says cabinet member

A member of Barnet Council’s Labour cabinet is calling on community groups to get involved in the borough’s community events calendar, with the opportunity to apply for funding for events.
Organisations can apply for £500 to £1,000 to put on an event in connection with either Silver Week (1st-7th October – Deadline for applications – 19th August;) or Black History Month (October – Deadline 31st August).
Cabinet member for culture, leisure arts and sport Anne Clarke said: “Barnet Council used to focus our community calendar just on big events in the Town Hall. This meant that too often, events were about our communities not by them.
“But the Barnet Labour approach is to work to ensure our community events are driven by our communities themselves. I encourage as many relevant organisations to apply as possible.”
