Volunteers Week (3-9th of June) celebrates its 40th Anniversary this year

Barnet residents are invited to volunteer their time to help others this Volunteer Week.

In its fortieth year, Volunteers Week turns a spotlight on all of the people in communities who give their time freely to support good causes.

According to Barnet Council, over 6,500 people across the borough volunteer to help others each year.

Volunteers Week culminates in The Big Help Out on the weekend 7th-9th of June. Potential volunteers can use their app to find a local volunteering opportunity and lend a hand to a good cause.

Volunteering Barnet has been the borough’s volunteer centre since 2015 and runs regular sessions for those interested in giving their time across the borough.

They will be holding a volunteering support session at Burnt Oak Library on Tuesday 11th of June between 1.00pm and 4.00pm, and an online volunteering induction session on Monday 17th June from 12.30pm to 1.30pm for those looking to get started on their volunteering journey.
