Barnet road closures: six for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Barnet’s motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm May 21st to 5am May 22nd, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for technology replacement works.

• A1, from 10pm May 22nd to 5am May 23rd, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1(M) northbound, junction 1 to junction 3, Lane, carriageway and slip road closure for carriageway repairs, diversion via local authorities.

• A1, from 10pm May 23rd to 5am May 24th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, junction 1 to junction Borehamwood, Lane closure for technology replacement works.

• M1, from 10pm May 23rd to 6am May 25th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction London Gateway Services to junction 4, Lane closure fort CCTV Upgrade works.

• M1, from 10pm May 28th to 6am June 1st, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 5 to junction 1, Lane and carriageway closure for surfacing works, diversion via Local Authorities roads.

• M1, from 10pm May 29th to 5am May 30th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction London gateway services to junction 4, Lane closure for technology replacement works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
