Cllr Richard Barnes on a change of plan for the junction of the A1000 and Lyonsdown Road

Dear Barnet Post,

I was surprised to see this article on the proposed changes to the Pricklers Hill (A1000) junction with Lyonsdown Rd.

Cllr Longstaff and I met with councillor officers from the Highways department on Thursday 22^nd February at the council offices in Collingdale. During this meeting officers made it clear that following the consultation the proposal to remove the right turn form the junction was not going to be proceeded with.

I appreciate that the article may have been written a few days before the publication date however the meeting had been planned for some time.

I am happy to say that on this occasion the consultation has been a very fair one and the views of residents have been taken into account and that there was no attempt to “push through” any proposals.

No news is bad news
