Barnet road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Barnet’s motorists will have 10 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 10 closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm February 13th to 5.30am February 15th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for Electrical/Cable works.

• M1, from 10pm February 13th to 5.30am February 15th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction A1, Lane and link road closure for gantry investigations, diversion via National Highways and Local Authorities roads.

• A1, from 10pm February 13th to 5.30am February 15th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1 northbound, junction 2 to M1 link road, link road closure for concrete repairs, diversion via National Highways and Local Authorities roads.

• M1, from 10pm February 13th to 5am February 14th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3 slip road, slip road closure for electrical works, diversion Via National Highways roads.

• M1, from 10pm February 15th to 6am February 17th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction London Gateway to junction 4, Lane closures for CCTV Upgrade works.

• M1, from 10pm February 19th to 5am February 20th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for electrical emergency works.

• M1, from 10pm February 20th to 5am February 22nd, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for electrical works.

• M1, from 10pm February 20th to 5am February 22nd, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for electrical works.

• M1, from 10pm February 20th to 5am February 22nd, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 slip road, slip road closure for electrical works, diversion VIia National Highways roads.

• M1, from 10pm February 26th to 5am March 2nd, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for barrier works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
