Drivers in and around Barnet will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm November 27 to 5am December 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for barrier works.

• M1, from 10pm December 4 to 6am December 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 5 to junction 4, Lane closures and exit slip road closure for resurfacing works, diversion via National Highways and TFL roads.

• M1, from 10pm December 7 to 5.30am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 4, Lane closures for railway inspections.

• M1, from 10pm December 11 to 5am December 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction London Gateway, Lane closures for electrical works.

• M1, from 10pm December 11 to 5am December 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 2, Lane closures for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads are not included in their schedule.
