70 firefighters were called to blaze at the derelict property on The Bishops Avenue this morning reports David Floyd

A derelict house on The Bishops Avenue has been partially destroyed by a fire this morning
Around 70 firefighters were called to the blaze on the street dubbed “Billionaire’s Row”, which connected Hampstead to East Finchley and is known for its large expensive properties abandoned by their wealthy owners.
Firefighters were called to the property just before quarter to one this morning and the fire was under control by 3.30am. Part of the ground and first floors of the three storey building were destroyed, along with all of the roof.
The fire has caused heavy smoke and London Fire Brigade is advising residents to keep their doors and windows shut.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
A 2014 report in The Guardian revealed an estimated £350million worth of vacant properties on The Bishop’s Avenue, including some that, at the time, had been empty for over 25 years.
