Ros Staines on the first of six shows presented by local charity Barnet Arts this summer
Theatre in the Park, East Barnet starts its summer season on 4th June with Robin Hood, Illyria’s fast-moving, fun-packed family show. This will be followed later in the month by the Magical Teddy Bears Picnic, featuring Mr Tiz, Mr. Punch and others.
Then on 2nd July we link up with the Bull Players who will be putting on a comedy murder mystery, where audience members will be invited to guess ‘whodunnit’.
At the end of July there’s more for the little ones with The Tale of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny from Quantum Theatre. The season finishes at the end of August with Twelfth Night from Illyria and The Wizard of Oz from Immersion Theatre.
These six shows are presented by charity Barnet Arts, which is run entirely by volunteers. You can find full details of the performances on our website, together with links to the theatre companies’ websites, where you can book in advance. Or you can simply turn up and pay on the day.
The shows take place at the golf course in Oak Hill Park, which is next to the car park in Parkside Gardens. It has a café selling hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice creams. Shows continue regardless of the weather unless conditions are actually dangerous. So bring something to sit on and come dressed for the outdoors.
Tickets for Robin Hood are available here.
