Barnet road closures: three for local motorists to avoid this week

Barnet drivers face slip road and lane closures on the A1 and M1 in and around the borough this week

Barnet’s motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways – the agency responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads – shows that three closures are due to start this week:

• M1, from 10pm December 5 to 5am December 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for barrier repairs.

• A1, from 10pm December 5 to 6am December 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2, entry slip road closure for concrete repairs, diversion via local authority roads.

• M1, from 10pm December 12 to 5.30am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3 to junction 2, exit slip road closure and lane closures for concrete investigations, diversion TFL roads.
