Barnet’s drivers face 10 lane closures, on the A1 and M1, in and around the borough this week

National Highways is the agency responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads

Barnet’s motorists will have 10 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways – the agency responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads – shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M1, from 10pm November 7 to 5am November 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 2, Lane closures for TFL bridge refurbishment works on A41.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M1, from 10pm November 14 to 5am November 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 3, Lane closures for TFL bridge refurbishment works on A41.

• A1, from 10pm November 14 to 6am November 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2, entry slip road closure for concrete repairs, diversion via local authorities (A1, A41, rejoin at, junction 4).

• M1, from 10pm November 17 to 5am November 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for CAT 1 safety fence repair.

• M1, from 10pm November 17 to 5am November 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 2, Lane closures for CAT 1 safety fence repair.

• M1, from 10pm November 21 to 5am November 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for TFL bridge refurbishment works on A41.

• M1, from 10pm November 21 to 5.30am November 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3 to junction 2, Lane closures for boundary fencing repairs.

• M1, from 10pm November 23 to 5.30am November 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for boundary fence works.

• A1, from 11pm November 25 to 5am November 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, junction 1 to junction Borehamwood, Lane closure for drainage inspections.

• A1, from 11pm November 25 to 5am November 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, junction Borehamwood to junction 1, Lane closures for drainage inspections.
