Barnet’s motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways – the agency responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads – shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M1, from 10pm October 31st to 5am November 7th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 2, Lane closures for bridge refurbishment works on A41.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M1, from 10pm November 7 to 5am November 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 2, Lane closures for TFL bridge refurbishment works on A41.

• M1, from 10pm November 7 to 5am November 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for CAT 1 safety fence repair.

• M1, from 10pm November 8 to 5am November 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closure for CAT 1 safety fence repair.

• M1, from 10pm November 21 to 5.30am November 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3 to junction 2, Lane closures for boundary fencing repairs.
