Road closures: six for Barnet motorists to avoid this week

Drivers in and around Barnet will face six lane and slip road closures on the M1 and A1 this week

Barnet’s motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a wait of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways – the agency responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads – shows that six closures are due to start this week:

• M1, from 10pm October 31 to 5am November 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 2, Lane closures for bridge refurbishment works on A41.

• M1, from 10pm October 31 to 5am November 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 4 to junction 5, Lane closures for – vegetation works.

• A1, from 10pm November 1 to 5am November 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, junction Borehamwood to junction 1, Lane closures for CAT 1 boundary fence repairs.

• M1, from 10pm November 7 to 5am November 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 2, Lane closures for TFL bridge refurbishment works on A41.

• M1, from 10pm November 7 to 5.30am November 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closure for vegetation works on behalf of Network Rail.

• A1, from 10pm November 12 to 5.30am November 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1(M) northbound, junction 1 to junction 3, carriageway closure, entry slip road closure and lane closures for concrete repairs, diversion via National Highways and local authority roads.
