Road closures: six for Barnet drivers to be aware of this week

Local drivers have six lane and slip road closures on the A1 and M1 to contend with this week

Drivers in and around Barnet will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways – the agency responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads – shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A1, from 9.30am October 6 to 4pm October 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, junction Borehamwood to junction 1, Lane closure for urgent electrical works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M1, from 10pm October 10 to 5am October 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for electrical works.

• M1, from 10pm October 10 to 5am October 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction London Gateway Services to junction 1, lane closures for electrical works.

• M1, from 10pm October 17 to 5.30am October 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction A406 to junction 1, Dedicated entry slip road closure for drainage works.

• M1, from 10pm October 24 to 5.30am October 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure and entry slip road closure for inspections works, diversion via National Highways roads.

• M1, from 10pm October 24 to 5.30am October 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for inspections.
