Barnet road closures: two to avoid

Delays are predicted locally on the A1 and the M1
By Andrew Dowdeswell, Data Reporter

Barnet’s motorists will have two road closures to avoid this week.

One of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a holdup of between 10 and 30 minutes – while the other is expected to cause slight delays.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways – the agency responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads – shows that two closures are due to start this week:

• M1, from 10pm July 11 to 6am July 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for boundary fencing works.

• A1, from 10pm July 25 to 5.30am July 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 5, carriageway closure for resurfacing, diversion via local authority roads (A41 and A1).
