Between Life and Death, Stories of Rescue during the Holocaust

Chipping Barnet Library,  3 Library Car Park, Stapylton Rd, Barnet EN5 4QT
Monday 2nd November – Sunday 13th December

Between Life and Death tells the true stories of people who chose to save others during the Holocaust.

Across Europe, rescuers risked their own lives to protect persecuted men, women and children. Through these extraordinary stories, the exhibition explores moral courage, human choice, and the enduring importance of empathy and solidarity.

This international touring exhibition from the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity (ENRS), comes to Chipping Barnet Library from 2 November – 13 December.

Visit in staffed opening times or in self-service opening with a library card.

The exhibition is accompanied by two events. The story of Holocaust survivor Sam Gardner told by his daughter Maralyn Turgel in association with Generation 2 Generation on Wednesday 11 November and the official opening on Wednesday, 18th November, with special guest Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines. Born in Czechoslovakia in 1929, she was one of 669 children rescued through the Kindertransport initiative organised by Sir Nicholas Winton in 1939.

Booking is required for the events but not for the exhibition.
